Sonny and Kip, the announcers of Reese’s Xtreme Cup Challenge, are being replaced by Commander Cup, Chief of Security, Reese’s Central.
On August 2, at 10:00am, Hersheypark announced they will be debuting a new ride called Reese’s Cupfusion for the 2019 summer season. It is a dark ride gaming experience where people have to protect Reese’s Central so the world will continue to have Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.
The ride was manufactured by Sally Corporation as Reese’s Xtreme Cup Challenge [RXCC], and it is being redesigned by Raven Sun Creative, the company that also designed Laff Trakk. The height requirements for Reese’s Cupfusion will be the same as RXCC.
Much like Reese’s Xtreme Cup Challenge, riders will have an Amplifier and targets to hit, to stun intruders or power the factory to keep it running. The objective is to earn as many points as you can. Extra points can be unlocked in combination with other people in the car.
New Characters
Mint the Merciless and The League of Misfit Candy have been banned from Reese’s Central, so it is the rider’s jobs to protect Reese’s Central from their intrusions. The Chief of Security of Reese’s Central is Commander Cup. She is, among other things, the inventor of the Amplifier, recipient of 55 Golden Safety & Security Cup Awards, and protector of The Crystal Cup.
RXCC
Hersheypark has said that Reese’s Xtreme Cup Challenge will permanently close on September 3, 2018, so construction can begin on Reese’s Cupfusion.
