Playland was an amusement park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The park opened on April 29, 1949, as a kiddie park with 8 kiddie rides, including a kiddie roller coaster. Over the years, the park evolved to have a mix of family and kiddie rides. Playland closed in the 1970s.
Rides
An Allan Herschell two-row carousel was added in 1951, along with a Big Eli Ferris wheel. A Turnpike ride was added in 1956.
Park closure
Playland shut down in the 1970s, and it’s unclear exactly what year this occurred.
