Universal Mobility, Inc. (UMI) manufactured two minirail systems in California, the Cal Expo Monorail in 1968 and Metro in 1971. Metro, with a $1.8 million cost and capacity of 4,682 passengers per hour, operated until 2001 before being sold to Hersheypark. The Cal Expo Monorail was constructed for the California Exposition and had a capacity of 4,000 passengers per hour.
