Nowlen’s Store | Inside Hersheypark

Nowlen’s Store was a house on 324-326 Park Avenue. This house was built on two tracts of land that had been merged into one. It was home to a grocery store and restaurant best known as Nowlen’s Store in the 1920s and 1930s.

The property dates back to the 1880s, when William Miller purchased two tracts of property from the estate of Henry Gingrich. One tract was in the village of Derry Church on East Derry Road, while the other tract was on “the Public Road from Gingrich’s Mill to Manadaville.” The public road from Gingrich’s Mill to Manadaville is today known as Park Avenue.

Today, the house would be located near Trailblazer, which was built in 1974.
