The Amusement Parkives

This website has turned one year old this week, though some articles are about a month older (I backdated articles to when I started writing Throwback Thursday posts in mid-February 2016 on the Hersheypark History Group on Facebook). When I picked a domain for this website, I wasn’t able to get a URL that was related to the name In The Park. As a result, I chose “parkhistories.com” even though the site was called In The Park. I haven’t liked that the website and url had different names.

Today, I am in the process of updating the name and the url of this website. Beginning now, the name of this website is The Amusement Parkives. On March 25, the url will switch from parkhistories.com to amusementparkives.com.

The word “parkives” is a combination of the words park and archives. The goal for this website is to be a comprehensive repository of information about many amusement parks, current or defunct, ride manufacturers, current or defunct, transportation systems, current or defunct, and more.

I look forward to the next year of The Amusement Parkives. I have a lot of good stuff planned – it should be a lot of fun!
