The Animal Garden was a short lived theme area in Hersheypark. This was introduced to replace Hershey Park Zoo which was closed in 1971. This was one of three themed areas to be added in 1972. The AquaTheater was also part of the Animal Gardens.
This was a petting zoo with a variety of animals. In the postcard here you can see some goats and a Pennsylvania Dutch-themed barn.
Hershey Park Zoo was reopened in 1978 as ZooAmerica, a North American wildlife park, making the Animal Garden’s days numbered. Animal Garden was closed following the 1980 season and the animals relocated. The area was converted into Kids Stuff.
