The Boardwalk at Hersheypark

For Hersheypark’s centennial celebrations in 2007, the park added The Boardwalk at Hersheypark. It was located in the large field in the middle of Midway America. This theme area recalled themes of Hersheypark’s pool (1929-1970). It also incorporated Canyon River Rapids, Tidal Force, and Roller Soaker. East Coast Waterworks, a slide complex called Coastline Plunge, Waverunner, and a couple of children / family water rides were added as part of The Boardwalk in 2007.

The Boardwalk

Since 2007, there have been 3 updates to The Boardwalk.

The SeaQuel

The Boardwalk expanded. Canyon River Rapids was removed. It was replaced with Intercoastal Waterway, a lazy river. The Shore, a large wave pool, was also added. This addition was called the SeaQuel.

2013 updates

During the 2013 offseason, Roller Soaker was removed and replaced with Shoreline Sprayground. A pair of slides were added to Coastline Plunge.

Racer Corner updates

In 2018, Hersheypark added Breakers Edge Water Coaster and Whitecap Racer. Breakers Edge also replaced Roller Soaker, utilizing the old station. Whitecap Racer was snugly fit into The Boardwalk behind the Intercoastal Waterway. The placement of Whitecap Racer in that location, opposite Breakers Edge from Lighting Racer, established the unofficially named Racer Corner.
