In 1982, Comet Hollow was named Spring Creek Hollow, but the name faded away quickly after the 1982 season.
In 1990, the region was named Comet Hollow with the formalization of all themed areas in the park. This was along with two other theme areas added the same year, and the reduction of two smaller theme areas as well.
Comet Hollow existed until the end of the 2011 season. The area was renovated when Skyrush was added to the area. SooperdooperLooper received new trains, new restrooms were located in the lower level of Skyrush and some games were removed or relocated. Comet Hollow was renamed The Hollow for the 2012 season.
